Bourse pietonnier

Thanks to action by a group of local inhabitants from the Boulevard Anspach, without being approached by the city, Luc Shuiten has redesigned the town centre.  The project plans to give strong identities to three squares that punctuate the Boulevard Anspach and to link them by varied vegetal installations.  The Stock Market, city-centre of Brussels, returns to a real square dedicated to socializing, meeting up, or picnics on sculpted benches and tables, inlaid with blocks of glass reflecting the light.  The square Debrouckère is well placed to become an information centre for shows, exhibitions and other cultural events.  Rows of Morris columns, crowned by their reflective umbrellas, will display the richness of the cultural programme available in the capital of Europe while acting as an open-air museum.  Le new city-centre pedestrian will help to change the status from major urban road to vast pedestrian zone.
