The streets and terraced houses in this quarter of Brussels are an ideal way of telling the story of the evolution of the city through images. In order to have an idea for future development, isn’t it necessary to examine the past to understand successive changes over time? Therefore, the images fix the situation every 100 years of a typical western European city like Brussels. After analysing the differences, a plausible hypothesis for development over the next 100 years can be elaborated. The metamorphose are reconstituted little by little by the spectator so that, by the end of the exercise, a real vision of the residential quarter in four dimensions will compose itself in the spectator’s imagination.
